Cannabis recipes

Rough guide - A VERY rough guide to consumption follows. REMEMBER this is a guide only and can vary hugely depending on your source and the THC levels in your weed. We strongly recommend taking it easy to start until you get to know how much you need. Perhaps use 1/2 - 2/3 of the dose below to start.

Rough Guide to Measurements in Cooking Per Person :-

Normal quality resin (powdered)

1/8 of a teaspoon - very happy/floating
1/4 of a teaspoon - soaring/high
1/2 of a teaspoon - watch out for pink elephants

1 teaspoon is approximately 1 gram

Average strength, ground weed

1/4 of a teaspoon - very happy/floating
1/2of a teaspoon - soaring/high
3/4 of a teaspoon - watch out for pink elephants

Cannabis Butter Recipe

Cannabis butter is a superb way to ingest the weed. The fats in the butter help to release those all important THC's and the versatility means it can be used for almost anything. If a recipe requires butter you can use it. If you want a quick hit simply spread it on some bread or crackers!

30g of hash/black or buds
or
40-50g of leaf

500g of butter (salted or unsalted)

Place the butter into a pan on a very low heat. Add the cannabis making sure it has been ground into a very fine powder. Cook on a low heat for 20-30 mins stirring continuously to prevent burning. Once cooked remove from the heat and put the mixture through a very fine sieve. Allow to cool then chill. If you are not using the butter immediately store in sealable air-tight containers. A small amount of water poured over the stored butter can help it to keep longer.
Then simply use the butter as you would normal butter in any dish that you want that high from.

Simple Space Cake Recipe

A superb, simple base recipe to make any cake you want. Simply add extra ingredients to make a different cake i.e. fruit (125g), chocolate chips (125g) or anything else you fancy. A teaspoon or so of mixed spice, cinnamon, ginger or other spice can work well too. Cover with icing (butter icing made with cannabis butter?) to make it extra special.

3 medium eggs

125g of plain flour

Ground hash or leaf to the desired strength (preferably not skunk). Use the guide at the top of the page or try 1/8 ground hash or ¼ of leaf.

125g of butter (be VERY careful with portion size if using cannabis butter)

125g of castor sugar

Beat the butter and sugar together until light, pale and fluffy.

Add the hash 'flour' and mix in well (skunk is NOT recommended as the flavour is too strong)

Slowly mix in the egg adding a sprinkling of flour as you go to help the eggs to blend.

Gently fold in the rest of the flour.

Poor the mix into a medium sized, greased, cake tin and place in an oven pre-heated to 180c (350f or gas mark 4).

Cook it for 30-40 mins (if you want to get really technical use a metal skewer pushed into the cake to see if it's cooked properly. If it is the skewer will come out clean). Then simply remove and enjoy. Just be careful you don't eat too much!

Cannabis Brownies (Considered by many to be the original Space Cake)

150g of salted butter

200g of plain or dark cooking chocolate

200g of raw/brown sugar

3 medium eggs

75g of plain flour

Nutmeg and Cinnamon to taste (just a pinch is usually great)

2 tbsp vanilla essence (not essential but gives a great flavour)

1/4 oz of finely chopped/ground leaf or bud or 1/8 of ground hash/black (or to preferred strength using the guide at the top of the page)

Pre-heat the oven to 180c (350f or gas mark 4)

Grease a medium baking dish (around 30cm square)

Over a very low heat melt the butter and chocolate, stirring all the time. As soon as the mixture is melted and smooth remove from the heat and slowly add the sugar, eggs and spices. Stir the mixture until smooth and creamy.

Add the flour, nuts and the cannabis and mix well. If the mix is a little thick add just a little water or milk as required.

Pour into the greased tin and bake for 20-25 mins. Cool on a rack or plate then cut into squares. You should get around 20 squares from each batch.

Space Pizza

1 frozen pizza

Grated cheese to taste

1/4 oz of finely chopped/ground leaf or bud or 1/8 of ground hash/black (or to preferred strength using the guide at the top of the page)

A simple and very quick meal to get you high. Simply sprinkle the weed evenly over the pizza of your choice, cover with a decent amount of cheese so that none of the weed is showing through and then pop in the oven until melted and starting to brown on top. It will usually need a little longer in the oven than recommended on the box.


Sticky Icky Tzatziki


Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) containers plain yogurt
2 cucumbers, peeled and seeded
2 tablespoons canna-oil
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 pinch kosher salt
1 pinch black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
3 cloves garlic, peeled

Directions
In a food processor or blender, combine the yogurt, cucumber, olive canna-oil, lemon juice, kosher salt, pepper, dill, and garlic. Process until combined. Transfer to a seperate dish, cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.

For an added kick, drizzle some canna-oil (preferably olive oil based) on top of the mixture while it's in the container and let it sit in for more than 2 hours. This one's perfect for dipping some warm pita bread into, or putting on top of your favorite gyro!


Green Dragon

Ingredients
1/2 ounce cannabis
1/5 liter 95% ethanol (190 proof)

Directions
Grind the cannabis into a fine powder. Put into light-proof glass container with the ethanol and let sit for 2-10 weeks, shaking daily. For a unique zing, add 1 tablespoon of lemon or orange zest with the cannabis and ethanol. Serve chilled in a cold glass with 3 ice cubes, 1 shot of Green Dragon, 3 shots of citrus soda (like Sprite or 7UP), and a teaspoon of honey.



Dazed Dijon Salmon


Ingredients
1/4 cup cannabutter
3 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
4 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
4 (4 ounce) salmon fillets
1 pinch salt
1 pinch cracked black pepper
1 lemon

Directions
Preheat oven to 400º F. In a small bowl, stir together melted cannabutter, mustard, and honey. Set aside. In another bowl, mix together bread crumbs, pecans, and parsley. Brush each salmon fillet lightly with honey mustard mixture, and sprinkle the tops of the fillets with the bread crumb mixture. Bake salmon 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Season with salt and pepper, and garnish with a wedge of lemon.


Cannaqueso Dip


Ingredients
7 grams cannabis
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3/4 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon salsa

Directions
Grind the cannabis into a fine powder. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the cannabis and stir constantly for 5 minutes. Strain the butter through cheesecloth to remove the cannabis and return the butter to the pan. Mix in the cornstarch, making sure to remove all the lumps. Stir in the sour cream. When the mixture becomes hot and bubbly, mix in the cheddar cheese and salsa. Continue stirring until the cheese has melted and the mixture begins to thicken, about 10 minutes. Makes about 2 cups.



Butterscrotch Space Pops


Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cannabis tincture

Directions
Line several baking sheets with waxed paper; set aside. Use butter to grease the sides of a heavy 1-quart saucepan. In the saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water and vinegar. Cook over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, to boiling, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to dissolve the sugar. Avoid splashing the mixture on the sides of the pan. Carefully clip a candy thermometer to the side of the saucepan. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, while adding the butter (cut into 8 pieces), 2 pieces at a time. Continue cooking the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the thermometer registers 300º F, hard-crack stage.

The candy mixture should boil at a moderate, steady rate over the entire surface. Reaching hard-crack stage should take 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat; remove the thermometer. Stir in the vanilla extract and cannabis tincture. Cool for 5 minutes. Pour the mixture, 1 to 2 tablespoons at a time, onto the prepared baking sheets. The mixture will make 2 to 3 inch circles. Quickly place a lollipop stick into each piece of candy, twisting gently to cover with the candy mixture. Let the lollipops harden. Wrap the lollipops individually in clear plastic wrap to store at room temperature. Makes 12 lollipops. Four lollipops will have about a tablespoon of cannabis tincture in it, so they should be pretty potent if you followed the recipe for the cannabis tincture, which can be found in the Medicine section of this site.
